Dialogos
2005-2007
Hans Hamid Rasmussen
Logos are normally associated with products, firms, clubs, organisations and political parties. Personal logos/identifying marks can express personal character or political opinions; they can also undermine familiar brand logos.
Through discussion, collaboration, lectures and the visual development of personal logos, participants will reflect on what it means to identify with a place, and how this can be expressed and will be invited to develop personal logos using sewing machines and computers. “Using my own background of growing up as a foreign language speaker, I wish to focus on identity and local belonging in my project for LevArt,” says Rasmussen, who was born in Algeria but grew up in Norway.
Eventually, he wants to develop a self-financing sewing workshop in Levanger in conjunction with local forces, so that others can also take part in the logo project. The aim of the sewing workshop is to establish a platform that can help to promote local belonging.
